Valentine’s Day is a holiday my mom always made special. She would make a dinner of everything pink or red, and if it wasn’t naturally those colors she would use food coloring. I always remember having pink mashed potatoes and pink deviled eggs, every year. As kids we thought it was the coolest thing!
Now, while I don’t color all of our food pink, I do enjoy decorating for most of the holidays. Last year I went all out on our dining room table. For those of you who don’t know, we have a 14-foot table that seats anywhere from 12-16 people. While its size is nice for entertaining, it can be a daunting task to create table scapes. That’s why faux flowers are so nice to use!
You know those little carts at Hobby Lobby? I still have no idea why they make their carts so small. There’s been times when I’ve needed two carts while shopping there! Anyways, last year I completely filled one of those carts with faux flowers. It seemed a bit excessive at the time, but since then I have used those faux flowers all over the house in various ways throughout the entire year! So while what I’m about to show you may seem like an abundance of faux flowers for one table, they have way more than one use and I have loved having them to use throughout the house. Also, most people don’t have a 14-foot table, so you will probably only need half of the faux flowers that I did.
Now, on to the tutorial! Simply click on the pictures for links to each item.
Again, it may not cost you what it cost me. But y’all, I’ve used every bit of these faux flowers all year long all over my house.
I’m in love with the dramatic feel it gave our table. I added some festive treats at the head of the table for a “sweet” touch that the twins loved!
This look would be perfect for any occasion, all you have to do is switch out the color of the flowers to go with each season. Since Easter is right after Valentine’s Day I simply removed all the pink flowers, added some decorative eggs and other decor, and the table was all set for Easter!
I’m in love with this look for a head table at a wedding, or even a baby or wedding shower. The possibilities are endless!
See below how I used most of the same flowers to make this years table! Again, that’s what I love about faux flowers…you get to use them over and over!
