HOMESCHOOL – VIRTUAL SCHOOL – NTI – HYBRID SCHOOL
Whatever type of schooling you will be doing with your kiddo this year, I highly recommend a “school station”. A space where you can store basic school supplies, workbooks, and manipulatives you’re going to need during school time.
To cut the fluff, I’ve created three ways you could create a homeschool area in your home. Minimal effort, minimal supplies, and things you can repurpose if you don’t plan to school at home forever.
CADDY
If you have an extra table simply keep a caddy full of supplies readily available. Keep kids workbooks out and use the table as your designated work space for school time.
CART
If you plan to school in various rooms of your home, or outside when appropriate, a cart will be a perfect fit for you. Keep the cart stocked with supplies needed for the week. If I had kids doing hybrid school, half home half at school, this would work great for me. They could easily store things brought home from school in the cart so everything stayed in one place.
BASKET
Wherever you want to school just take your stocked basket. On the go, at the kitchen table, at the grandparent’s house…there’s so many options!
A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN IT’S PLACE
These three options are rather simple, and that’s the point. School at home may be weird and messy this year. Your kiddo may start school at school but end up back at home due to COVID, no one really knows. Having school supplies and workbooks in a designated place is just going to make this year easier for everyone. When it’s time to school, everyone knows where to go for supplies and that’s one step that will become routine for everyone. I feel like we all need to make this as easy as possible for everyone this year, am I right?
